Prices are a month on a yearly plan: Wix's and Squarespace's US pricing pages, re-read Oct 15, 2026; the other Y Combinator-funded builder's pricing page, read Oct 9. Ploy lists no prices on its site, so its range is from third-party listings, which don't say how it's billed. Future's are its regular yearly prices.
Method
How we tested
- One request. Each builder got the same sentence, word for word. Where a builder asked questions, we gave the business name, said clients get in touch by phone or form, and skipped the rest or took its first suggestion. No domain or plan offers were taken.
- Free or trial plans. The four other builders made their pages on Oct 15, 2026, each on its free or trial plan. Future's design was drawn from the same sentence on Oct 11 and built on Oct 15, 2026; the pictures show the same page rebuilt on Oct 16 with our latest layout fixes.
- As made. Every page is shown as its builder made it. Future's scores are from its Oct 15, 2026 build.
- Speed. Lighthouse 12.8.2, the engine behind Google's PageSpeed Insights, on its standard mobile and desktop settings (mobile simulates a slower phone and network). Three runs of each on Oct 15, 2026; the middle score is shown, with all three runs beside it.
- Where. Wix and Ploy were measured at their live free addresses, and Squarespace at its live address once a plan was paid (Oct 16, 2026), over the internet. Google's own test runs on Google's computers, so its scores can differ a little from ours.
- No public page. The other Y Combinator-funded builder built its page, but it opens only inside its signed-in editor, so it has no speed score. Squarespace's trial site stays private until you pay for a plan; we paid for one so it could be tested, and its pictures are from its editor preview.
- Pictures. The whole page, 1440 pixels wide for a computer and 390 for a phone.
1 Future's page isn't at a public address yet. Its scores were measured on the product's publish output for this page, served from our own computer, with the same Lighthouse version and settings as the others.
